Where is Alphabotts

I have been absence from here for a few days, I have been busy filling card orders and trying to meet the deadlines on them.  Have finished the order I was working on and will publish when the customer gets them.  Think they turned out fine, lot of angst went into one of them lol.  Have also been working on two other orders, one for a lovely lady in the UK, and am trying a few new things for one of her cards, it is coming along but needs more work .

Custom Card order

Finished half a custom card order at last, got distracted with our wedding anniversary today hehehe.  The rest of this order is not due for a while so sending these off now and will work on the others but first have to get back to a bigger order I have that needs to be finished sooner.  Does that make sense,.

Anyway, here are these two, the customer wanted a male card and didn't mind how so did a plainer card as its his 30th and didn't think I should overdo it.  Also didn't know what he is into so played it safe.
The second card is a birthday card for a lady in her 50's who sells clothes and loves shoes, bags etc so did a handbag theme.

Birthday Card

This is the first in one of the  custom orders I have at the moment.  The person wanted something similar to a previous card I did and this one is take on that.  I think it came out nice and actually looks better in real life.  You will note that just before I sealed the bag I added the friend rub on, I thought it needed something extra heheh

New Home Card

I made this little card for my wonderful niece Nicole and her boyfriend, who have moved into their first home this week end.  AM so proud of her and wish them well.  The card is a little plain but I do like the orange colour which I hardly ever work with and just about all the cards I make Nic are usually in pink tones as she is the princess in the family so was nice to do something different for her and I think the paper makes the statement on this one.

Hope everyone is having a productive day.l  I have so many cards to get started and finished tomorrow, it feels good to have the orders coming in , hope this is the start to something more regular.

Cards

I had a really productive day today.  Finished two cards, one for a special niece, will post after I give it to her .  Used colours I don't normally work with and although its plain I really like it.  Also finished two custom order cards which came together quiet well and also will post after they are delivered.  Have a few more to make for that order so will be a little while.

Really cant wait for the remaining storage options to be delivered, my craft studio is getting so messy every time I work as there is just no room and hard to find things.  I do not know how people scrap that use one table inside  a cupboard, my hat goes off to them.

Engagement cards to show

My Girlfriend asked me to make an engagement card for her to give to her nephew who recently got engaged.  When I asked what she wanted all she said was that she would like it personalised with their names on it. 

When I played around with a few ideas, I decided I liked using their initials as it sat nice on the card then their names which were a bit long.  I also didn't get any idea of favourite colours etc so done two cards.  One was in blacks and one was pinks.  Totally opposite colours but I liked how they came out.  I really like the pink one and when I gave them to my friend she liked them both, somehow as it's her nephew I think she might go with the black one but will wait and see.  Hope she asks me to do a wedding card for her when their time comes.  What do you think?  Would you like to receive cards like these?

Inside the cards I have put in a light cream insert that simply says 'congratulations'.  The ribbon is hidden under the front an back cover and ties at the side like a mini book.

Engagement Cards and Studio

Spent two hours today finishing off the cards I was making for my friend.  She wanted an engagement card so I made two so that she could choose.  Hope she likes them.  Will upload pics after I show them to her.  But when I finished I looked at the mess I had made in my studio.  Guess I will be spending tomorrow or tonight giving it a good cleaning up, I find it hard to clean as I go as I am a bit restricted with space and it is a bit much getting up and down to reach things so I get in a bit of mess.  Dont judge me by these pics heheh, I hate working in mess but this is me in my creative mood.

Storage Issues

Yesterday I was in my craft room, going to start a card that a friend asked for and ended up needing to sort out all my blank cards and envelopes.  They were all in one box in an order that was only obvious to me but the edge of some envelopes had gotten up turned so knew I had to find a better storage solution.

So today off we went to Howards Storage and what a wasted trip that was, I wasn't feeling great but that trip didn't help.  They had nothing that I could use that would be serviceable and also able to take a decent quantity of cards.

So home again and back online to the Container store.  Found something that I think will work fine and ordered two of them.  They have two day shipping from Sydney so we will see, as my parcels have not been arriving in any great time frames.

With the containers ordered, I went back to start the card and decided I would make two, one in a girly pink design and one in a black and white.  The black and white one looks good in my opinion, just  need some black organza to finish it which I will have to get tomorrow.  The pink one is coming along ok, it has a few parts to it that need to be glued and dried fully before I move on to the next stage, so hope I will get it finished tomorrow an then can take it to my friend Friday for her to choose.  Actually she can have both if she wants and another family member can use the one she doesn't want.  Am happy with them so far and will post pics when they are done.

Childrens Tee Shirts

Whilst getting into my cards and things I have also been embellishing tee shirts for children .  One of the cute ones that people have been purchasing is where I heat transfer the first initial of a child's name onto the tee shirt.  This is done using a specific hear transfer vinyl as is used in many commercially available tee shirts.

I am also able to place a variety of images and words on the tee shirts depending on requirements.  One set I did for a customer,  I customised a birthday card using the same font and initial to make this a unique personalised gift. I can produce a range of fonts and sizes to be used.

Craft supplies and Cards

I got around to taking some pics of the cute ribbon that I got the other day when we went shopping.  Have some things in mind for this.

When we went out shopping on my birthday, I found this jar, it has three bowls that all fit into each and has a lid, has fruit in it now (ok ok its fake fruit), but have always wanted something like this for the ledge at the kitchen bench,  It actually looks really goood and adds some nice fresh colour.

A little creative

I started work on a card that a friend asked me to make, is taking me a while to be happy with the design,  but think I now know what I will do with it so might get it finished today.

Had some fun playing around with my blog and seeing what works, still have a long way to  go but am happy with the changes so far and will keep at it today I think, finding it fun to see what works etc.

Also have a few pics to upload so that is on the to do list as well.

Wet and Hot Wednesday

The day started off so hot and humid and now at 8.30 pm the thunder and rain is coming down.  At least the air con is doing its job.

We went out for brunch today, have been a bit housebound the last week or so after my trip to the hospital Friday night so was good to get out, even though Jeff had to literally drag me out.

We ended up going to DFO at Fyshwick, for two reasons, we were just going to have something at Coffee Club and I also wanted to go to my favourite two stores, Typo and Provincial.  Had brunch which we really needed as we were both really hungry after not having dinner last night and then on to some retail therapy. 

Found some cute ribbon in Typo, that looks like a tape measure, so cute,  also got some more tags to decorate.  We then headed to Provincial, ohh how I love this store.  Bought a small gift for my niece and a cute clock for my scrap booking room.  Could easily have spent so much more money in that shop.  A quick trip into JB-HI-FI and I got season 1, 2 and 3 of Big Love, looks interesting, Jeff got a movie and home we came.

Forgot to take my SLR with me and was disappointed, wanted to take some shop pictures, will have to do that next time.  Today would have been good to take pics though as there was no one around.

Had a half felt invite to be a third wheel at dinner tonight, wanted to go but was tired and hot, plus the cricket was on so declined.  Would have been fun though.

Ohh in some good news, a friend asked me to make a card for her for a special event.  Have to get my creative hat on tomorrow and start designing.

Had some online retail therapy on Saturday night and one of the parcels came today, my ATG gun in pretty pink.  Hope my other things come tomorrow am looking forward to them.

Virtual Tuesday

So today I mentioned to Jeff that we should have been at the Hunter Valley Gardens and checking out the story book garden.  So what did he do...bring up a you-tube vid for me..hahaha not the same.

So then resorted to some online retail therapy for my scrapbooking and card making fun.  Have lots of parcels on their way to me ...yeahhh
